How often should I water basil indoors?
I keep a basil plant on my kitchen windowsill and the leaves keep turning yellow. Am I watering too much or too little?

Yellow leaves are most often a sign of too much water. Let the top 2 cm of soil dry out before watering again, usually every 2 to 3 days, and make sure the pot has drainage holes. Basil also needs 6 hours of bright light a day.
Check that the pot is not sitting in a saucer full of water. Pinching off the top leaves also helps the plant grow bushier.
